Mountain Trekking up LangBiang. It was wet, windy and slippy but surprisingly fun. We went 2000 metres up but it was so misty we couldn't see the view! Had the best egg fried rice when we got down.
'Crazy House' A surreal guest house designed by a former Presidents daughter-who was working in the ticket office! People can actually stay in the rooms but know one was when we visited..
Notice above - me holding a snake and then me eating a snake! Also a river tour and a monkey bridge. We are on the Mekhong which traverses cambodia, and forms the border between Laos and thailand further up. We attended a floating market where it is customary to atach samples of the fruit u r selling to a pole so that it can be seen from all around.
If every city had an emblem Saigon's would be the motorbike, there are more than 4 two-wheeled vehicles to every 1 with four wheels. We managed to find an xmas tree - our first all year! Also see us having a beer with our travelling compatriates - an astonishing 6p a pint for the local brew! We saw the war museum etc, but those trips don't present photograph opportunities.
I accidentally added a photo twice, so please ignore its second appearance. This trip was certainly a highlight - I have never seen anything like it, even thinking about it now I am awe struck. A lot of climbing on well worn and narrow steps was required, but jen enjoyed this thoroughly! We have a load o Angkor photos so more may follow.
More Grand Palace and Security Office S-21 (the KR prison/torture and interrogation institution which was once a school). We were sufficiently shocked by S-21 -and it happened just 30 yrs ago..
The Phnom/hill with 4 Buddha statues founded by Lady Phen and also some from the Grand Palace, our view from guesthouse over the lake and Liberation monument.
