Taman Negara is said to be the oldest rainforest in the world at 130 million yrs old. None of the ice ages had any effects on it. We trekked during the day for 2 days and discovered huge ants-about an inch long and a giant milipede. We heard something very big run away though. We did however go on a guided night trek where we were told not to expect to see animals and that we will only see insects. We saw 2 Sambar deer with a baby, wild boars, 2 huge hunting spiders on trees, big stick insects, fireflies and a scorpion and then slithering under a chalet in forest headquarters a 3 metre long King Cobra! These are one of the most deadliest snakes in the world. The guide got very excited as it was so rare but we all had to get right back, if you get bitten then the area of your body needs to be amputated!!

Brett hitting a tree- the sign said this was done by forest ppl to call to each other

On the longest canopy walkway in the world.
